WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Controller
The Controller is responsible for planning, managing and directing the activities of the accounting department. This position works under the guidance of the VP Finance in preparing and reporting financial statements conforming to principles of accounting, Mars, Inc. finance manual and regulatory requirements, as well as responsible for corporate adherence and maintenance of Internal Controls in line with the Mars, Inc. Internal Controls Excellence framework (ICE.)
This is a full-time, remote position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Oversee and supervise the accounting department including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Fixed Assets and Treasury.
Assure the department is meeting the annual, quarterly, periodic and weekly goals and objectives.
Prepare and review financial reporting to assure that the reports are timely and accurately prepared.
Responsible for overseeing accounting procedures and reporting management.
Responsible for implementing, monitoring and enhancing internal controls in line with the Mars, Inc. ICE framework.
Research and present accounting strategies to the CFO, VP Finance and business unit owners, while maintaining standards and controls in a transaction heavy business.
Supervise the preparation of financial statement consolidations in accordance with GAAP and the Mars, Inc. finance manual.
Establishes strong relationships with operational departments and serves as a primary contact for the business.
Manages annual financial and internal control audit.
Maintains current policies, procedures and current and prospective accounting standard requirements to ensure compliance with US GAAP and Mars, Inc. finance manual.
WHAT YOU BRING
BA/BS with 10+ year relevant work experience, including 5+ years of supervisory responsibilities.
CPA or CMA with minimum of 3 years in a national or regional public accounting firm a plus.
Experience with Oracle or major enterprise accounting systems.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data in a decision support process and format.
Proven track record managing multiple priorities and handling special projects with short timelines.
Experience working in a large multi-unit, multinational organization preferred.

Pay range (US based applicants): $170,000 - $195,000 (annualized)
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, certifications, relevant education and training, while also considering internal equity.
