Loan Processor - Home Loans (NOLA) (Finance)

We are seeking a Home Loans Processor for the New Orleans Loan Processing Department.

In this role, you will ensure compliance by following Credit Human lending guidelines, secondary market guidelines, and state and federal regulations to guarantee all loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant. You will review and verify loan applications, ensuring the validity of information and assembling fully documented files for the Underwriting and Closing Departments. Developing strong working relationships with the Home Loan Production team and San Antonio peers will be essential to ensure a smooth and timely loan process, while effective communication will support a high-quality member service experience.

Experience:

    Required

• Minimum 1 year of financial industry experience working with loan applications.
• Experience with managing a loan pipeline.
• Knowledge of credit and collateral underwriting guidelines and rules and regulations governed by state and federal agencies.
• Knowledgeable in real estate origination, processing, underwriting, and closing principles to include secondary marketing automated underwriting engines.
• Working knowledge of Fannie Mae Guidelines, DU® guidelines and risk assessment tools used to decide mortgage loans.

    Preferred

• Mortgage processing experience including conventional underwriting
• Fannie Mae processing experience 
• Basic knowledge of mortgage

Education:

    Required

• High school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field

Licenses & Certifications:

    Required

• Registration as Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry

    Preferred

• NMLS registered

Skills & Knowledge:

    Required

• Desire and ability to work in a production environment processing mortgage loans.
• Computer skills to include automated underwriting systems, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and Fannie Mae's Desktop Underwriter - DU®.
• Ability to use sound judgment and possess strong decision-making skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving and audit skills
• Strong organization skills and results orientation
• Ability to effectively communicate
• A strong sense of urgency about solving problems, meeting challenging deadlines and achieving critical goals

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm 

Flexibility: Not remote, on-site, in office

Level of Work: 1C

Minimum Starting Salary: $50,198.65
