Adjunct Instructor - Real Estate Development Studio (Education)
The Boston Architectural College (BAC) seeks an adjunct instructor to teach its Real Estate Development Studio. This is the capstone course for the BAC's master's degree program in real estate development. As students complete this course, they will be expected to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the processes, procedures, and principles required to lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and stakeholder groups in the development of a visionary project that is financially viable, environmentally resilient, and socially beneficial for the community.
This 6.0 credit course is taught synchronously using Zoom in the fall term from late August to early December. Two 3-hour class meetings per week are required with class times scheduled from either 4:00 to 7:00pm or 7:15 to 10:15pm (ET). A Monday and a Thursday class schedule is preferred.
Students are located throughout the US and in several neighboring countries.
Minimum required qualifications:
o Master's degree in real estate development, urban planning, architecture, business, or a related field.
o Several years of professional experience or actively engaged in real estate development or a closely related industry.
Preferred qualifications:
o Prior teaching or mentoring in an academic or professional setting.
o Familiarity with financial modeling tools and industry-standard software
o Experience with online teaching (synchronous or asynchronous), online collaboration platforms, and/or Moodle (or a similar LMS)
