Supervisor, Crisis Services (Personal Services)
Responsible for day-to-day supervision, counseling, and discipline of direct staff according to procedure. Also responsible for performance evaluations, initial 90-day period for (direct report) new employees and annual thereafter.
Educates and empowers staff to be adept at meeting current and future organizational needs, and adjusts schedule staff hours of work, priorities, and assignments to ensure efficient operation of programs.
Through individual and group supervision, directs, supervises, trains, evaluates competencies and addresses performance issues consistently, promptly, and appropriately.
Plans and facilitates meetings to communicate organization initiatives and updates to staff.
Assists in the development and monitoring of department/program budget(s).
Monitors and manage staff schedules to ensure that staff time is being utilized effectively and appropriately.
Collaborates with Leadership Team on addressing issues of compliance and ethics.
Monitors credentialing, privileging, and licenses to ensure staff are up to date and working within their scope.
Ensures obligations regarding the specifications of the program, productivity, and frequency of patient contact are met consistently.
Develops and leads staff training programs and exercises to maintain a culture of learning and clinical excellence.
Regularly and consistently audits clinical documentation of staff for clinical proficiency, quality, and timeliness.
Performs other duties as assigned
Provides supervision to staff in other Clinical Care Division departments as needed to ensure continuity of services.
Participates in 24/7 supervisor on call rotation to provide clinical consult to staff doing pre-admission screenings for inpatient hospitalization.

Provides input on department policies and procedures on an ongoing basis.

Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Must be able to safely perform all aspects of the Safety Care crisis intervention model, which includes therapeutic de-escalation skills, as well as therapeutic holds

Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Knowledge
Knowledge of Michigan's community mental health (CMH) system; minimum of three years' experience working with CMH populations.
Knowledge of current practices, methods, and procedures in the delivery of behavioral health services, diagnosis, and treatment.
Knowledge of credentialing requirements to perform duties within departments.
Knowledge and understanding of all regulations, contract requirements, standards applicable to departments.
Working knowledge of resources, including but not limited to: Diagnostic Criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), Medicaid Provider Manual, LifeWays Provider Manual, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), International Classification of Diseases (ICD), LifeWays Policies and Procedures, LifeWays Provider Newsletters/ Communications, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Physicians' Desk Reference (PDR), and departmental processes.
Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills to include the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts and build teams.
Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Excellent time management skills in a setting with potential frequent interruptions; ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects and perform tasks in an organized and timely manner, with attention to detail.
Experience with basic data analytics and proficiency/intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and other relatable software (Power BI, etc.); and internet applications, including Electronic Medical Record. Ability to navigate LifeWays Intranet.
Abilities

Ability to work a non-traditional schedule which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed to ensure appropriate oversight of departments.

Required Education/Certification/Licensure
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Family & Marriage Therapy or Doctorate in Psychology.
Appropriate full licensure with the State of Michigan.
Preferred Education/Certification/Licensure
Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).
CIT Train the Trainer Certification. .
