ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Criminology is defined as the interdisciplinary scientific study of crime, criminal behavior, and the social control of crime. The Department of Criminology provides a scientific, philosophical, and humanistic approach to the understanding of these subjects in contemporary society. The Department is committed to a liberal arts education, believing that this pedagogy best prepares students for whatever choices they might make upon graduation. Accordingly, faculty strive to achieve excellence in the dissemination of knowledge, to be at the cutting edge of advances in the field, and to participate with both public and private agencies involved in the prevention and control of deviant behavior. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Replication of BRIGHT (TBDA Inventory) is a grant in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences - Department of Criminology.
The TBDA Inventory is being developed in response to the needs of the Tampa Bay Defense Alliance, who serves the defense community. Currently, the project aims to serve the eight county region of the Greater Tampa Bay Area. The primary role of this position is to manage an interactive digital platform that serves as a network to defense communities to programs and services.
The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project. The role also includes oversight of the vetting process of applicant service agencies to determine compliance with evidence-based clinical practices, program design, service delivery protocols and organizational stability. This position reports directly to the BRIGHT Project Manager in the Trafficking in Persons Risk to Resilience Research Lab. This position directly oversees other project staff, including Program Planner Analysts, graduate and undergraduate students.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong administrative, organizational and project management skills; Excellent verbal and professional written communication skills; Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn database navigation. Skills in community collaboration
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage project operations, including office functions, event planning, budget oversight related to purchases and travel requests, and overall compliance for BRIGHT Network by working with agency partners to create and validate detailed functional specifications for the TBDA Inventory within training manuals, outward facing documents to the community, and inclusion standards. Maintain records and record storage systems of activities, accomplishments, meetings, and member organizations.
Management of any full time, part-time, and volunteers working on the project.
Designing standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance of the TBDA inventory, including a strategic plan, short and long-term needs, best practices, and operational efficiency. This includes providing training and technical assistance to agency partners in the TBDA Inventory in regard to structure, feature design and execution in client referral, data collection and visualization, and organizational vetting procedures.
Identification, recruitment, and cultivation of vendor and multi-work sector partner relationships to build and operate an interactive digital platform (TBDA Inventory). This includes contract acquisition, requisition, and creation and review of budgets.
Identify, recruit, and onboard new organizations to be a part of the TBDA Inventory. Completion of site visits of candidate organizations who wish to join the network
Consult with community partners in the evaluation and modification of the TBDA Inventory's applications and subsequent features that may be added to
improve efficiency and effectiveness. Conducting community engaged research to understand the needs of the system in order to determine the best mechanisms to implement them.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of directly related experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in a related field and 2 years of project management or coordination experience. Military knowledge / background (direct or spouse).
