What You Need to Know
Genesis Products is seeking an experienced Material Handler Float with Forklift Experience for our wood panel processing manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Material Handling: Safely transport raw materials, finished goods, and supplies using forklifts or other material handling equipment across various departments.
Loading and Unloading Trucks: Efficiently load and unload flatbeds and Conestoga trailers while ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
Experience with Heavy Lifts: Operate 5,000- and 10,000-pound forklifts safely and effectively to handle large or heavy materials.
Inventory Management: Accurately track inventory levels, report shortages, ensure materials are properly labeled and stored, and assist in cycle counting across multiple storage locations.
Production Support: Deliver materials to production areas as needed to maintain workflow and minimize downtime across rotating shifts or departments.
Computerized Shipping: Use computer systems to ship products out accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with shipping requirements.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols for operating forklifts and handling materials in a manufacturing environment.
Organization and Cleanliness: Maintain clean and organized storage areas to ensure efficient access to materials and compliance with company standards.

Required Skills and Abilities
Forklift Operation Certification: Proven experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment; certification preferred. Experience with 5,000- and 10,000-pound lifts is required.
Material Handling Expertise: Familiarity with handling raw materials, finished goods, large or heavy items in a manufacturing setting, including loading/unloading flatbeds and Conestoga trailers (3–5 years of experience preferred).
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and move between departments as required.
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to accurately identify product, label materials correctly, follow production schedules, and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
Safety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a safe workspace by adhering to safety protocols for forklift operation and material handling.
Organizational Skills: Capability to keep storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with company standards across multiple locations or departments.
Team Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors across rotating shifts or departments to ensure smooth operations.
Computer Skills for Shipping: Proficiency in using inventory management systems or shipping software to process outgoing products; experience with Oracle MRP systems is a plus.
