Electronics Lead Engineer (Engineering)
What you will do:
This position is responsible for the electronic design and development of battery management system components for low and high voltage battery and super capacitor systems used in multiple applications. This position is a senior engineer responsible for both electronics design and leading development team members for battery management and future electronics products.
How you will do it:
Leading and participating in the design, analysis, and execution of all technical aspects of electronic products / projects which meet or exceed the hardware requirements.
Responsible for hardware requirements to meet current and future battery management system level requirements, strategies, and cost.
Directing the design to ensure integration with software, manufacturing, and the battery system.
Reviews and confirms the hardware analysis plan, approves test results, leads design justification and design reviews to support Clarios' production launch development process completion.
Responsible for leading design and development for manufacturability, understanding electronics manufacturing processes, and ensuring product testability.
Facilitates development of DFMEAs and functional safety within the battery management system. Technical lead in design team activities and communication to OE and internal customers.
Directs technical aspect of other team members to resolve technical issues and decisions.
Consistently presents technical topics within electronics engineering teams or product groups Lead & support new business quote activities.
In-depth understanding of best-in-class design & statistical methods and can teach others
Execute & promote organization skill and competence in creativity, innovation, system integration, industry leading problem solving & debug techniques, and fact-based decision making.
Acts as a bridge between industry trends and Clarios design approach as it applies to electronics
Focuses on Electronics knowledge development, innovative technology, core competencies, OEM
program requirements, in determining technical objectives and direction for BMS electronic products.
Lead technically and support strategic electronics direction to set Clarios apart as the industry leader in cost, technology, safety, and execution within the global marketplace.
What we look for:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• 10+ years of professional engineering experience in related field
• OE Automotive/Tier 1 Powertrain electronics experience is required
• Technical / project leadership experience
• Experience with schematic capture, for example Altium
• Experience with electronic circuit debug, test, and simulation tools
Preferred:
• Experience with Li-Ion battery management
• Experience in requirement management tools, for example Doors or Jama
• Educational or professional embedded software engineering experience
