Inventory Control Quality Control Associate - Edison, NJ (Finance)
Job Responsibilities:
Inventory Accuracy:
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, reconciling system records with physical counts.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, including receiving, shipping, and transfers.
• Monitor and manage stock levels to optimize inventory and minimize shortages or overstocking.
• Conduct Inventory audits for ready to ship products staged at the dock.
Inventory Management:
• Track and record incoming and outgoing inventory.
• Utilize inventory management systems to monitor and report on inventory levels.
• Identify and address potential inventory issues, such as shrinkage or damage.
• Assist in the implementation of inventory control procedures.
• Monitor product expirations and perform product rotation.
Reporting and Analysis:
• Generate inventory reports and provide analysis on inventory trends.
• Identify areas for improvement in inventory control processes.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities (Associate will be responsible for quality check of
finished goods and staged goods in the warehouse)
Quality Inspections:
• Inspect outgoing and staged products for quality defects.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Document and report quality issues.
• Performs quality inspections on all product, ensures all product meets or exceeds WSF specifications and reviews
documents that accompany shipments (ex: COA, etc.).
Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate quality records.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of products, to maintain quality.
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location. Work closely with Safety Management to meet and exceed objectives.

Collaboration:
• Work closely with warehouse, purchasing, and other departments to ensure smooth inventory and quality processes.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors regarding inventory and quality issues.
Process Improvement:
• Contribute to the development and improvement of inventory control and quality assurance processes.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for efficiency and cost savings. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Capability of being licensed in operating powered industrial equipment
Experience:
• 1 - 3 years related experience preferred.
• Have an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
• Experience as a selector or lift operator (strongly preferred)
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
• Understanding of Safety guidelines Understanding of shipping, receiving & order processing.
• Understanding inventory imbalances and ability to make appropriate corrections and adjustments.
• Knowledge of warehouse slotting system required.
• Possess ability to understand and interpret computer reports.
• General knowledge of EDP applications and computer capabilities helpful. Prior experience with personal computer applications preferred.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills, both with co-workers and over the telephone with outside and Company personnel.
• Possess good math skills and figure aptitude.
• This role demands a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of maintaining accurate inventory records while upholding stringent quality standards.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Work Environment:
Onsite Role:
• This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center
or office.
Travel (minor):
• This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.
Physical Environment/Demands:
Warehouse Roles:
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation.
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
• Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Woodstock Farms: Ability to work in an environment containing tree nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat, sesame, milk and different spices like pepper, chili, etc.
