The MDS Nurse for Clinical Reimbursement plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely completion of Resident Assessment Instruments (MDS) for skilled nursing residents. This position is responsible for overseeing clinical reimbursement activities, including PDPM compliance, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of long-term care regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely completion of Minimum Data Sets (MDS) for skilled nursing residents. Key responsibilities include overseeing PDPM compliance, including analyzing data, identifying improvement areas, and providing recommendations to optimize reimbursement. The MDS Nurse will also assess residents, coordinate MDS assessments, and ensure data accuracy. This includes managing level of care changes, conducting resident care conferences, and providing training to new MDS Coordinators. Additionally, this role involves tracking and monitoring Quality Measures and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and maintaining resident confidentiality.
