Responsibilities
Intercompany Transactions & Coordination
Collect and maintain documentation for intercompany transactions, ensuring accessibility for audits and compliance. Coordinate accounting entries and perform regular reconciliations for accuracy between entities. Apply transfer pricing methods to ensure tax compliance and resolve discrepancies. Identify process improvements for intercompany transactions to enhance efficiency. Assess risks in transfer pricing and recommend mitigation strategies.
ERP Support & Implementations
Resolve complex ERP transactions and process intricate corrections, collaborating with departments for effective solutions. Work with finance users to identify system improvements and collaborate with IT to optimize D365 F&O finance modules. Serve as a point of contact for finance users on technical issues related to D365 F&O (e.g., General Ledger, AP, AR, Cash/Bank, Fixed Assets). Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades, validating new features and ensuring thorough testing. Assist in data migration, develop test scripts, and support training materials and post-implementation activities.
Financial Close
Maintain workpapers for journal entries and reconciliations. Input accurate financial data into the accounting system. Assist with reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Support month-end close tasks and process. Handle daily accounting and month-end tasks for acquired companies. Assist with Mexico's month-end close and financial statement preparation. Analyze and compile Mexicos financial statements. Identify and implement process improvements for Mexicos close. Review Italys financial statements for accuracy. Transition month-end close ownership to Mexicos and Italys Controllers.
Fixed Assets
Manage the recording and classification of MWOs and fixed assets in the general ledger. Coordinate periodic physical audits and reconcile asset records to identify discrepancies. Track and monitor capital expenditures against approved budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to management on variances and trends. Maintain a comprehensive fixed asset database, including detailed information on asset descriptions, acquisition costs, useful lives, and depreciation schedules.
Freight
Responsible for reconciling and the accuracy of the Freight and Duty balance sheet account. Adjusts the landed cost of goods based on reconciliation findings. Assists with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Landed Cost module, including collaboration with Purchasing, IT, and Accounting teams. Creates invoicing, reconciliation, and adjustments procedures for Landed Cost. Ensure accuracy and integrity of freight-related financial data and ledger entries.
Day-to-Day Transactional Duties
Ensure data integrity through regular audits and address discrepancies with sales invoices. Handle daily accounting tasks for acquired companies, including invoicing, cash receipts, payables, and disbursements. Provide backup for AR and AP clerks, supporting invoicing, receipts, and disbursements during absences or high volume.
General Support
Contribute to the successful completion of the annual U.S. census by collecting and entering data and gathering feedback for improvements. Collaborate with internal teams and external customers, including clients, vendors, and partners, to resolve discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Support and assist team members within finance and cross-functional teams. Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in accounting processes and suggest improvements. Analyze workflows to assess effectiveness and recommend changes. Develops, drafts, and revises SOPs. Oversee the daily activities of the staff accountant, providing direction and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Offer informal training or guidance to team members on accounting software or procedures to enhance their understanding.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Minimum 8 years of professional accounting experience.
Minimal travel may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ERP knowledge/experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus).Proficiency in Excel.Management experience.Understanding of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
