Route Truck Flatbed Driver (Transportation)
Deliver accurate products to a designated site and assist material handlers with loading and unloading products.
Make multiple stops along the predetermined route.
Maintain a professional level of customer service.
Conduct pre and post - trip inspections and report findings at the end of each shift.
Assists in the yard as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education, experience, and skills:
Maintain a culture of safety.
Maintaining a Commercial Driver's License and maintaining it according to Federal Safety Regulations.
Ability to take instructions, understand roadway signs, and follow directed routes.
Understanding safe load securement requirements and ability to follow rules.
Preferred knowledge about various specifications of company products.
An ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and maintain professionalism.
Ability to read, write, and accurately perform basic math functions.
Physical, mental, and environmental requirements: This is a high energy and mentally demanding position. Daily problem solving is needed using specifications and interpersonal skills. Must be able to climb in and out of the truck and trailer several times per shift. Shifting gears requires coordination of hands and feet. The ability to throw and tighten straps and iron to secure inventory on the trailer. Must be able to distinguish colors, size and count concerning the Company's products and materials. Regular lifting of objects up to 100 pounds may be required along with sitting for up to 8 hours per day. Plus, walking, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping objects. Most work is performed outdoors or in a truck which is subject to seasonal Midwest weather conditions (summer heat and winter cold). Rough, muddy, or icy job sites or roadways must be tolerated. Interstate, state, county, city, and private roadway travel are necessary. Safe truck operations must always be a priority.
