Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) (Healthcare)
• Patient Care:
○ Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, sensory integration activities, and adaptive equipment training.
○ Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
○ Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention.
• Evaluation:
○ Assist the occupational therapist in conducting initial evaluations and reassessments.
○ Collect and record patient data, such as range of motion, strength, and functional abilities.
• Treatment Planning:
○ Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
○ Modify treatment plans as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
• Documentation:
○ Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
○ Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, Medicare, and state licensing boards.
• Collaboration:
○ Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and effective care
