POSITION SUMMARY:
The Department of Internal Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine is pleased to announce a faculty position available at the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) as a non-tenure track Infectious Diseases Clinician Educator.
This position will work directly in the TGH Cancer Center and shall provide professional medical services: providing inpatient and outpatient medical consultation services and treatment for: (i) infections in cancer patients receiving active cancer therapy; (ii) malignant hematology patients with impending neutropenia; (iii) HSCT patients admitted for conditioning therapy and transplantation, or with infection as a potential etiology of the clinical presentation; (iv) CAR-T or ICE patients admitted for cellular therapy, or with infection as a potential etiology of the clinical presentation; and (v) patients hospitalized under direction of TGMG Oncology Services.
Additionally, the incumbent physician will be a key player in the growth of I.D. Oncology at TGH and will be performing clinic hours, supervision, administrative tasks and supporting operations (collectively, the ?Services?), at the designated Sites. It is anticipated that the Physician will dedicate approximately seventy-five percent (75%) of the Physician's time to the provision of clinical and patient care activities, and twenty-five percent (25%) of the Physician?s time shall be dedicated to administrative, education, research and supervision activities established at the discretion of Tampa General Medical Group (TGMG).
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a record of excellence in patient care and scholarly activities and possess experience working in an academic medical center environment that supports appointment in the College at rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or above requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor, or the equivalent.MINIMUM:
Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine. Must be Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine/Infectious Disease.
PREFERRED:
Experience in oncology service lines. Development of dashboards and quality metrics. Proven track record of ID-Oncology Clinical Research trials for prevention or treatment of infections in cancer patients. Experience in Academic Medicine. Prior experience teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Experience in Infectious Disease Clinical Research (Investigator-Initiated and/or Industry-sponsored trials).The University of South Florida is a high-impact global research university dedicated to student success.
