Research Physician Investigator (Biotech)
The research physician investigator is responsible for diagnosing and treating cancers and blood disorders while integrating cutting-edge research into clinical practice. Key responsibilities include oversight of clinical trials, consulting with referring physicians, and developing individualized treatment plans based on the stage and prognosis of the disease. The physician investigator actively monitors patient progress throughout their participation on a clinical trial which includes testing, evaluation, and treatment. Additionally, this role includes oversight of research staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and participating in regular meetings with clinic physician owners and management to address research involvement in the practice goals. A commitment to continuing medical education and professional development is required.
