Digital Scientific Project Manager (Biotech)

The Digital Commerce organization at Lonza's Capsule & Health Ingredients (CHI) is driving a digital transformation and is seeking a highly skilled Digital Scientific Project Manager with expertise in product formulation or business development to own the creation of digital products for capsule and ingredient solutions. This role is remote; however, our ideal candidate will be located on the East coast.
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for running the scientific and content aspects of key digital products, ensuring it aligns with both customer needs and business objectives. You will demonstrate your knowledge of formulation science or pharmaceutical experience to guide the creation of accurate, scientifically validated content for the digital products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will supervise the integration of the right product information, ensuring it aligns with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
This position requires a blend of scientific expertise and project management skills, as you'll coordinate across departments to bring together formulation data, customer requirements, and market trends. You'll help craft the content and structure of the digital products, ensuring it delivers reliable, scientifically sound, and tailored solutions for customers. Your ability to handle timelines, resources, and collaborator expectations will be key to ensuring the successful launch and continuous improvement of this meaningful tool. This role is ideal for a scientist, business development professional, or pharmacist with strong project management abilities, passionate about bridging scientific formulation with business-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Curate and validate content for digital products, ensuring scientific accuracy, alignment with customer requirements, and adherence to industry regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GMP, EU regulations).
Collaborate with R&D, formulation, and business development teams to provide scientific guidance on ingredients, formulations, and product combinations, ensuring their accurate representation.
Lead the development and enhancement of key digital products, overseeing project timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and cross-functional teams (including R&D, marketing, sales, regulatory, and quality).
Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards, including safety, quality, and labeling requirements, and work closely with the regulatory affairs team to ensure formulations and ingredient usage adhere to applicable laws.
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration, acting as a liaison between scientific, digital, and business teams to ensure the digital products are scientifically sound, user-friendly, and meet business goals.
Manage project timelines and resources, ensuring on-time delivery of the digital products while balancing scientific objectives and business needs, including overseeing the budget and tracking project milestones.
Maintain stakeholder engagement by providing regular project updates, progress reports, and addressing potential risks, challenges, and scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive continuous improvement of the digital products by evaluating customer feedback, integrating scientific advancements, and staying up to date with industry trends to enhance functionality and content.
Support marketing and sales efforts by helping to communicate the value and capabilities of the digital products to customers, assisting in the development of targeted messaging, and contributing to educational materials.

Effective communication and leadership skills to guide teams through complex scientific projects.
The ideal candidate will be geographically located in the East coast or Midwestern US. Approximately 10% travel required, including internal meetings and industry conferences.

The full-time base annual salary for this Remote position is expected to range between $100,000.00 and $170,000.00. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
