Manager, Internal Audit (Finance)

Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Internal Controls, the audit manager will manage the internal audit function at TriWest, including regular operational audits of cost centers, Information Technology audits, SOC1/SOC2 reporting, and audits of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting ("ICFR"). . Provides guidance, supervision, and assistance to Internal Audit staff. Ensures that audits address areas of concern to support TriWest's business and performance objectives and identify compliance issues regarding TriWest policies and procedures, and government contract requirements are met. Promote efficiency and protection of TriWest assets through internal controls processes. Ensure policy and procedures support TriWest objectives. Evaluate operational and financial data for accuracy and reliability.
Education & Experience
Required:
• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance, Health Care Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
• Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Management Accountant, or other relevant certifications
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
• 5+ years of experience managing a team to accomplish financial, operational, compliance and/or information systems audits
Preferred:
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Care Administration, or Information Technology field.
• Experience with all phases of SOC1/SOC2 (planning, fieldwork, and reporting)
Key Responsibilities
• Assists the Director, Internal Controls with planning and organizing Internal Audit annual objectives, including: 1) Executing the financial/operational audit portion of the annual audit plan. 2) Scheduling and assigning audit projects. 3) Determining resource requirements for the audit projects.
• Provides advice and counsel on new systems, initiatives, and services under development from an internal controls perspective.
• Assists Director with the coordination of financial internal audit activities with the independent registered public accountants.
• Coaches, trains, supervises, and provides staff development in Internal Audit function through on-the-job training, mentoring, and training courses.
• Oversees audit quality and contract compliance.
• Supervises auditors in the performance of assigned audit projects.
• Promotes and maintains professional auditing standards.
• Confers, advises, and coordinates with other TriWest departments regarding policies and procedures.
• Assures follow-up of audit recommendations to determine the adequacy and timeliness of management's corrective action.
• Coordinates audit activities with other TriWest departments to secure the necessary resources and support to conduct audits of TriWest's programs, activities, and functions.
• Monitors Internal Audit activities and works within budget, while identifying and implementing process improvement for increased efficiency.
• Performs special audit-related projects as assigned.

Technical Skills: Requires a strong working knowledge of the laws and regulations imposed on government contractors and health care systems by state and federal agencies; in-depth technical knowledge of internal audit principles and procedures including IIA Standards; knowledge of Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing; strong knowledge of Accounting principles and thorough understanding of financial statements; broad-based business knowledge including financial/operational processes and procedures in health care industry; planning skills; change management skills.

• Availability to work non-regular hours as necessary
• Works within a standard office environment, with minimal travel
• Extensive computer work with long periods of sitting
