The Department of Economics at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure-track Visiting Professor for the 2025-26 academic year. This is a one-year contract, but contingent on department need and available budget the contract could be renewed.
Our department is made up of an innovative group of scholars who are dedicated to producing top-flight research while training our students in the latest techniques in economic analysis. Our department offers BA, BS and PhD degrees in Economics, and MA degrees in Applied Economics with about 1000 undergraduate majors. The primary responsibilities for this Visiting Professor will be in teaching. The teaching load will be 6 sections for the academic 2025-26 year, divided evenly between the Fall and Spring semesters. The courses will be at the undergraduate level. We are looking for demonstrated experience in and enthusiasm for teaching courses in Intermediate Macroeconomics as well as elective courses involving corporate finance and capital markets.
