Legal Investigation (Legal)
Investigation & Research:
Conduct thorough investigations in personal injury cases, including accident scenes, medical records, and witness statements.
Interview witnesses, experts, and individuals relevant to case facts.
Perform surveillance when necessary to collect evidence and identify facts related to injury claims.
Review police reports, accident reports, and other public records to gather supporting evidence.
Evidence Gathering & Documentation:
Collect physical evidence, photographs, videos, and other materials to support case theories.
Prepare and maintain organized case files, detailed reports, and investigation logs.
Ensure proper chain of custody and security of evidence collected.
Collaboration & Case Strategy Support:
Collaborate with attorneys to identify investigative needs and provide input for case strategy.
Prepare for and attend depositions and trial proceedings as necessary.
Assist in locating and interviewing experts or professionals needed for case development.
Communication & Reporting:
Maintain clear and ongoing communication with legal teams about findings, updates, and any issues that arise during investigations.
Create and deliver comprehensive investigative reports that outline findings, evidence, and any recommendations.
Adherence to EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) Principles:
Work within the EOS framework to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with the firm's vision.
Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the overall productivity and growth of the firm.
Maintain a solution-oriented mindset, focusing on providing value and achieving case outcomes efficiently.
In-Office Work When Not in the Field:
When not conducting field investigations, you will work in the office to review evidence, update case files, prepare reports, and coordinate with the legal team.
Your office work will include organizing and documenting investigation findings, performing research, and ensuring all information is accurately recorded and easily accessible for case preparation.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience as a legal investigator or in a related field, ideally within personal injury law.
Experience using EOS or similar frameworks in a professional setting is a plus.
Skills:
Strong investigative and research skills, with the ability to identify relevant information in complex cases.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to report findings clearly and concisely.
Familiarity with legal procedures, regulations, and ethical standards in personal injury law.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Education:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in criminal justice, legal studies, or a related field is preferred.
Other:
Ability to travel to various locations for interviews, site visits, and investigations.
Familiarity with technology and case management software is a plus.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
