As a Director, Solution Consulting within Group Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored, technology-driven solutions to employer groups and their employees/members. You will leverage your deep understanding of data exchange protocols, benefits technology platforms, employee education, and engagement, and the Prudential ecosystem to support Sales in successfully proposing technology-based solutions and ensure a seamless onboarding and ongoing customer experience. This role serves as the bridge between the Distribution, Underwriting, Product, Operations, and other technical teams, ensuring that our clients receive innovative solutions that align with their employee benefits strategies.
This position is an individual contributor with extensive experience, requiring strategic thinking, strong communication skills, analytical skills, and technical expertise. A successful background in leveraging technology to drive customer satisfaction will set you apart. You will work closely with key stakeholders to translate customer requirements into actionable technology solutions, drive engagement with group insurance products, and optimize the end-to-end customer journey.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is fully virtual. While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where you are required to be on-site at a Prudential office.
What you can expect:
Client and Partner Solutions Development:
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Relationship Management, Onboarding, and Operational teams to understand the unique needs of prospective employer group clients and brokers.
Leverage Benefits Technology Relationship Managers' platform expertise to understand what plans/plan designs will best position us to win and successfully implement Prudential products on the client's chosen benefits technology platform.
Work with Ben Tech team to review pipeline and proactively identify RFPs to target; partner with Underwriting, Proposal team, and Sales Executives to create and present tailored customer solutions that best position Prudential GI's technology/capabilities.
Partner with Enrollment Coordinators to understand optimal enrollment strategies and further refine tailored customer solutions to leverage customer benefits technology and Prudential technology/capabilities to drive high levels of participation.
Serve as the subject matter expert on the interaction between group insurance products/services, Prudential systems and processes, and benefits technology platforms such as ADP, Workday, PlanSource, Businessolver, and others.
Data Exchange and System Integration:
Lead efforts around data exchange protocols (API, EDI, SSO) to ensure seamless integration between Prudential's systems and external customer platforms (e.g., enrollment, HCM, and payroll systems).
Work with technical teams to perform gap analysis between the customer's desired solution and supported solutions.
Drive adoption of best practices in standard solutions that may be offered to provide optimal customer experiences.
Customer Onboarding Support:
Ensure that the proposed solution is leveraged as the guide for the customer's onboarding process.
Serve as primary internal consultant during implementation, helping to manage expectations, timelines, and deliverables and provide advice on how to pivot if/when needed.
Ensure that the onboarding and technical teams remain in sync and build towards the desired solution.
Support post-onboarding efforts to continuously improve client experiences and adapt solutions as client needs evolve.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with Operations and Technology teams to ensure that any new solutions delivered are scalable, efficient, and aligned with the company's technological objectives.
Partner with Distribution to ensure alignment between proposed plan designs, Prudential capabilities, benefits technology partner capabilities, and market demands, helping to close deals and retain customers through value-driven solutions.
Thought Leadership and Industry Expertise:
Stay abreast of industry trends in group insurance, benefits technology, and employee engagement to position the company as a market leader.
Represent the company at industry conferences, client meetings, and webinars as a thought leader in group insurance technology solutions.
Provide ongoing training and education to internal teams about emerging technologies and trends within the benefits landscape.
What you'll need:
Experience and Technical Skills:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in group insurance, employee benefits technology, or a related field. A focus on technology, data, systems, and/or a technical degree is preferred and will be differentiating.
Strong understanding of data exchange protocols, including API, SSO, EDI, and their application in insurance and benefits systems.
Proven experience in managing data exchange projects, particularly involving APIs and EDI standards.
Experience with Human Capital Management (HCM), Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), payroll, and/or benefits technology platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, Businessolver) and understanding of how these systems integrate with group insurance products and services is strongly desired.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
Collaborative mindset, with experience working cross-functionally with Distribution, Product, Operations, and IT teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field required or equivalent experience. Technical degrees are strongly preferred.
Master's degree or relevant certifications in insurance, technology, or project management is a plus.

Experience with employee education and engagement strategies in a benefits or insurance context.
Previous experience in a consulting or client-facing role within a group insurance carrier or benefits technology provider.
