Transcriptionist (Healthcare)

Summary/Objective
Translates Physician's dictations of patient care and treatment into comprehensive typed records.

Essential functions

Receives physician's dictation of patients' cases.
Listens to digital recordings and transcribes physician's notes into well-organized and accurate typewritten statements.
Detects any discrepancies in dictation and edits them accordingly.
Translates complex medical terms and ensures that the meaning of the reports do not change.
Develops an extensive knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with a variety of medical documents.
Enters typed and reviewed documents in EMR.
Other duties as assigned.
