Fitness Coach - Active Aging Adults and Orthopedic Management (Healthcare)
Program design and curriculum for small groups based on achieving performance fitness goals.
Ensure fitness instruction and training environments are safe, clean and organized.
Conducts independent consultations, movement screenings, and athletic assessments to measure baseline and performance progress.
Implements small group programs for active aging adults, orthopedic fitness clients, Livestrong at the Y participants, and overall strength development programming.
Develop relationships with individuals, teams and groups to promote small group training interests.
Promote and market training opportunities inside and outside the YMCA.
Qualifications
This position requires strong organizational, communication, interpersonal relation skills and an ability to work independently at times without direct supervision. Knowledge of exercise science and performance fitness development is essential to create and deliver safe and effective fitness programs. Our health and fitness employees must be viewed as experts with valuable knowledge and experience. Achieving and maintaining a professional certification and continuing professional development is necessary to design and deliver quality programs that meet an individual's unique health and fitness needs.
Certification/Experience
YMCA approved fitness certification
CPR/AED certification
Personal exercise and/or athletic experience is beneficial
Coaching or personal instructional experience with fitness or sports
