Position Overview
The Desktop Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise desktop environment. This role involves developing standardized desktop configurations, optimizing performance, ensuring security compliance, and supporting enterprise-wide IT strategies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in endpoint management, operating system deployment, and application delivery.
What You'll Do
Design and implement enterprise desktop architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Manage operating system deployment (OSD) using tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM/MECM) and Intune.
Ensure compliance with security policies, vulnerability management, and endpoint protection best practices.
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate desktop solutions with other enterprise infrastructure components.
Research and recommend new technologies to enhance the desktop computing experience.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, SOPs, and support guides.
Serve as a key participant IT's semi-monthly Architecture Systems Review Board (ASRB) and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7-10 years of experience in desktop engineering, architecture, or related roles
Expertise in Windows OS, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MCM/Intune), Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) for automation and system administration
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, MCSE, or similar
Experience with macOS or Linux desktop environments in an enterprise setting
Knowledge of ITIL best practices for service management
Experience working in a hybrid on-premise/cloud environment

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role is $98,000.00 - $132,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
