Electrical Technician/Controls Technician (Engineering)
The Electrical Technician troubleshoots, repairs and maintains production machinery in a 24/7 high speed manufacturing facility. You will research, test and analyze ideas for possible system and process improvements. Success in this role will be demonstrated by meeting safety and quality standard while reducing waste and increasing productivity. The Electrical Technician reports to the E-Tech Reliability Leader.

You Will
Share responsibility of on-call technical support on rotating schedule
Troubleshoot breakdowns of industrial packaging production machines not limited to Blowmolders, Conveyors, Injection Molding machines, labelers, baggers and palletizers
Complete continuous improvement projects to meet production and customer needs
Perform electrical maintenance including screw tightening, wire tracing, amperage readings and infrared scans. Update missing documentation in AutoCAD
Design and install controls upgrades for obsolete PLC's with Allen Bradley Micrologix, Compactlogix and Contrologix using RS 500 and 5000 software
Design and install safety controls upgrades to protect workers and machines that meet or exceed industry requirements
Follow and promote Plastipak's core values
Complete required safety and electrical troubleshooting training
Manage projects, work with vendors and purchasing to requisition parts
Communicate with the E-Tech team and various departments
You Have
Associate's Degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Technically oriented
Windows based computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Industrial controls system troubleshooting
Variable frequency drive experience
Rockwell Software RSlogix 5/500/5000, Factorytalk View Studio, Siemens Step 7
AutoCAD
Strong decision making skills with limited information
