Major Purpose of the Job: As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our manufacturing facilities operate smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and leveraging your strong electrical experience and PLC programming skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, testing, and maintenance on industrial equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Tasks may include lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and optimizing output.
Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve issues with machinery or equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Equipment Installation and Setup: Assist with the installation, setup, or relocation of new machinery, ensuring proper calibration and operational standards.
Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
Training: Train machine operators in daily maintenance tasks and techniques for identifying early signs of wear and tear or potential breakdowns.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, including OSHA standards, use of PPE, and additional safety measures when risks are identified.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to identify long-term needs.
Electrical and PLC Programming: Utilize your expertise in electrical systems and PLC programming to support maintenance activities.
Working Conditions:
Typically located in a shop environment without air conditioning or heating.
Exposure to dusty conditions.
Frequent outdoor work with exposure to various weather elements.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Problem Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve machinery issues effectively.
Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous documentation and a strong focus on safety.
Skills in blueprint reading, basic plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical drawing, shop mathematics, and welding.
Education and Training Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or Technical Trade School Certificate.
2 to 3 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance.
