JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:
A Universal banker is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to banking and can manage sensitive financial customer requests from beginning to end. This position is responsible for welcoming new customers to the bank, conducting a variety of transactions in an accurate and timely manner, opening accounts for new and existing customers, handling customer account inquiries promptly and professionally. The duties related to this position will include functions not necessarily depicted by your title, nor specifically enumerated in this job description.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Open accounts for new and existing customers and prepare proper documents, while following the procedures and established policies within the Bank.Identify the needs of new and existing customers and offer appropriate services currently available, leading to sales of products and services.Answer questions, concerns, and handle changes regarding a variety of areas including:
Checking, savings, debit cards, rates, contact information changes, etc.
Online banking support including:
Password resets, Secure now, Mobile Deposit, troubleshooting errors and training customers, and teaching customers about Bill Pay and Zelle.
Process teller transactions including Deposits, withdrawals (including calculating penalties), check cashing, loan payments, change orders, cashiers checks/money orders, cashing Savings Bonds etc.Complete a variety of forms request by customers including:
Stop payments, direct deposit requests, Unauthorized ACH returns, Disputes, etc.
Safe deposit box access
Daily Backup Duties
Answer the phone when the receptionist is away from their desk.Direct walk-in customers to the correct department or person when the receptionist is busy or unavailable.
Occasional backup duties and responsibilities:
Assist other departments or staff with projects as needed.Balance the ATM and coin machine
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & CIVIC INVOLVEMENT:
Participate in professional and civic organizations to further personal development and demonstrate support for the bank.Attending classes, webinars, etc. as assigned or requested.
