Position Summary:
The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the effective management and administration of all aspects of an intercollegiate program to provide a positive and beneficial experience for student-athletes.
They will assist with all aspects of recruiting and scouting. The Assistant Coach will engage with donors and fans to promote interest in the volleyball program. They will also serve as a point of contact for the Athletics Marketing team and Sports Information Directors, ensuring that milestones are recognized and that proper media coverage is given to team events.
Additionally, the Assistant Coach will be responsible for coordinating team travel arrangements and meal planning. They will also attend all program-related meetings as assigned by the Head Coach.
Workplace Requirements:
This position is exclusively on-site, requiring all duties to be performed in person on campus during regular office hours, mornings, nights, and weekends as the team schedule requires. Regular travel is expected. Per Rice Policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
