Program Coordinator I - Performance & Svc. Excellence (Finance)
The County of Riverside's Performance and Service Excellence Division at the Medical Center Department seeks a Program Coordinator I to join our team in Moreno Valley.
Under general direction, this position will be responsible for responding to and/or escalating patient alerts on the National Research Corporation (NRC) portal, data analysis for Patient Experience, Patient Safety Culture, and Workforce Engagement, promoting workforce engagement, implementing reports for leadership based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) data, CGCAHPS reporting and improvement initiatives, Patient/Family rounding in Adult In patient units/ED, patient experience education in the hospital and community health clinics, managing and administering RUHS Employee recognition, researching improvement initiatives known to drive engagement, CIPHER and NRC Portal management, collaborating with third party vendors, implementing, launching, and promoting surveys, collaborating with NRC, survey Data Analysis/allocation for 4000+ employees, developing and leading committees such as (but not limited to) the following: Patient and Family Quality and Safety Advisory Council, Professional Practice Committee, Performance Improvement and Safety Committee, Ambulatory Care Committee meeting, Ambulatory Care and Quality Committee and, EVS Ongoing improvement initiatives; collaborating with the Patient Experience Physician Champions, Inpatient and Ambulatory Care, training (including New Employee Orientation training) and education courses, possessing knowledge of and developing A3's, marketing and developing public facing content enhancing Patient Experience at RUHS.
The incumbent in this position will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of a specialized program within the departments of Riverside University Health System (RUHS)-Public Health (PH), RUHS-Care Clinics, RUHS-Behavioral Health (BH), RUHS-Medical Center (MC), Environmental Health, Animal Services, or Children and Families Commission, coordinating program activities with other services within the department, providing public health information and educational services to the public; and performs other related duties as required.
The most competitive candidates will have current/recent professional experience with and knowledge of the following:

- Microsoft Outlook, Visio, Project, and Teams
- Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Experience in patient care roles and/or healthcare settings with a focus on patient experience, quality improvement, and/or customer service
- Program development and implementation
- Understanding of healthcare standards and regulations including patient rights and privacy laws
- Analyzing data and metrics related to Patient Experience, Patient Safety Culture and Workforce Engagement
- Public Speaking
This position has a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off; 7:30am - 5:00pm.
*This is a hybrid position, which will consist of in-office attendance a majority of the time but also some remote work and working at the RUHS-Community Health Centers/Quarterly Site visits.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•Establish program goals and objectives and determine priorities; provide supervision, technical assistance, and consultation to program staff.
•Interpret and implement state and federal program mandates; establish and interpret program policy; monitor and evaluate program activities and budget expenditures; collect and analyze statistical data.
•Develop and write proposals for grant applications; may determine medical eligibility and authorize expenditure of program funds for diagnosis and treatment or delivery of services.
•May supervise staff in the preparation of case records, the determination of financial eligibility, the encumbrance of accounts, and the preparation of required reports.
•May communicate directly with physicians and other healthcare providers or managers concerning individual cases and administrative matters as appropriate.
•Serve as liaison with funding authority and departmental fiscal unit regarding program financial issues.
•Prepare annual and quarterly reports; meet with interested community organizations to promote program goals.
•Conduct educational outreach activities and develop program information materials for distribution to organizations, community groups, schools, and the general public.
•Represent the department at meetings with local, state, and federal program representatives; prepare a variety of reports, records, and correspondence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with major coursework in health education, nutrition, healthcare or hospital administration, public health, business or public administration, health science, communication/journalism, zoology, early childhood education, child development, or a closely related field. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
Experience: Two years of administrative or supervisory experience which includes the coordination, management, or administration of medical care, behavioral or public health, environmental health, animal services programs, or early care and education programs.
Knowledge of: Administrative principles applicable to the organization and functions of program planning, implementation, and evaluation; elements of supervision and principles of personnel management; budget preparation and control; grantsmanship; medical terminology; public relations and marketing.
Ability to: Supervise, train, and coordinate the work of program staff; analyze operations and services related to programs; interpret legislative and administrative mandates and regulations to project probable impact to the organization; develop and prepare grant applications; monitor expenditures and maintain fiscal control; establish and maintain effective working relationships with local, federal and state program agencies, and the general public; prepare comprehensive and clear oral and written reports and presentations.

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION: Voluntary employee contribution with a choice between two 457 deferred compensation plan options.
VACATION ACCRUAL (Bi-Weekly Accrual):
0< 3 year = 80 Hours (10 Days)
4< 9 years = 120 Hours (15 Days)
10 or more years = 160 Hours (20 Days)
Maximum Vacation leave accumulation is 480 hours.
SICK LEAVE: Four (4) hours Sick Leave accrual per pay period with unlimited accrual.
HOLIDAYS: Normally 12 paid holidays per year.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: Allowed 5 days (3 days are County paid; 2 additional days can be taken from accrued Sick Leave balance).
BASIC LIFE INSURANCE: Equal to one times annual base salary not to exceed $50,000 of term life coverage. Premiums are paid by the County. Additional Supplemental Life plan is available for employee purchase.
DISABILITY: Short-term Disability benefit pays up to a maximum of $461.54 weekly, payable up to a maximum of 52 weeks.
POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL CONTRIBUTION: A monthly contribution is made by the County towards retiree health insurance offered through the County as governed by the applicable SEIU Memorandum of Understanding.
