Substance Abuse Clinician (Licensed ) Community Courts-AD/Gambling (Personal Services)
The Social Worker Licensed provides professional therapeutic services to persons with mental illness and/or addictive disease. Arranges appointment schedule at optimal intervals to maximize use of work time. Conducts face-to-face comprehensive assessment to identify problems and service needs. Writes individual service plans that meet required standards for diagnoses, content, justifications for treatment, evidence of consumer input, and treatment time frames. Writes service plans that are clear, concise, complete, grammatically correct, timely, and properly coded.
Provides individual, family or group therapeutic counseling and/or educational and skill development sessions as indicated in the service plan. Monitors consumer progress and compliance with the service plan. Writes timely progress notes that relate directly to the treatment outcomes described in the service plan. Assembles, analyzes, and interprets new/updated information about the consumer in order to reassess treatment needs. Identifies unmet needs, reviews available resources, and modifies the treatment plan as indicated.
Provides crisis intervention services to existing and walk-in consumers as needed.
May serve as case manager to facilitate and ensure communication, linkage, and continuity of care between consumers, physicians, other organizational components, community resources and service providers. Establishes linkages and coordination of services with community agencies. Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with community service providers. Informs consumers and families of the availability of community advocacy and support groups.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops treatment plans and updates as needed. Conduct group, individual, and family counseling with clients in a Drug/DUI and Family Treatment Court programs. Attends training for various evidence-based practices and provides these treatments with fidelity to the model/s. Writes timely progress notes for all services provided. Function as a member of the Drug/DUI/Family Treatment Court team. May attend Drug/DUI/Family Treatment Court staffing and court sessions on a weekly basis. Communicates with the Drug/DUI/Family Treatment Court teams and keeps them updated on client progress. Participates in treatment team meetings. Provides case management to clients and links them with resources if needed. Conduct Gambling Treatment/Assessment services as part of the Gambling contract with DBHDD Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Training & Experience:
Masters degree in social work or a closely related field AND licensure in the State of Georgia as professional counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist at least at the associate level (LAPC, LMSW, or LAMFT).
Willing to learn more about Gambling Assessment/Treatment and attend VPH provided training in this area in order to provide services to clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as an addiction counselor (CAC I/II, CADC I/II, MAC, CAADC, etc.) Experience providing group Experience working with clients involved in the criminal justice system/accountability courts Experience working with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring clients Experience working with clients with problem gambling/gambling disorder
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.Requires long periods of sitting/standing.Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.Other duties as assigned.
