User Experience Specialist (Information Technology)

As a User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in defining the user experience, defining agile backlogs, and designing intuitive and user-centric interfaces to maximize usability, efficiency, and satisfaction for our clients. This position transcends traditional business analyst roles, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise, design proficiency, and business acumen. Additionally, you will ensure that the applications are compliant with Section 508 accessibility standards, making them accessible to users with disabilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate closely with client stakeholders across the organization to understand and define user personas, business requirements, workflows, and stakeholder objectives for various projects.
Conduct comprehensive user research and analysis to refine personas, define user needs, identify pain points, and opportunities for improvement to the current user experience.
Define and elaborate agile product backlogs for projects, working closely with client stakeholders, users, and our technical team.
Conduct accessibility audits, identify accessibility barriers, and implement remediation efforts to ensure that the = applications are compliant with Section 508 accessibility standards.
Design wireframes, prototypes, and user interfaces, ensuring alignment with stakeholder objectives and industry best practices, including seamless and intuitive user journeys across all modules and functionalities.
Lead UI/UX design workshops and presentations for project stakeholders, effectively communicating design concepts and gaining buy-in
Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate and refine design solutions, ensuring optimal user experience and satisfaction.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews, contributing to the successful delivery of the project.
Provide guidance and support to development teams, ensuring successful implementation of design solutions and adherence to project timelines.
Stay updated on latest trends and developments in UI/UX design and industry best practices, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
At least 3 years of experience in UX design.
Proficiency in industry-standard UI/UX design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma.
Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards and guidelines.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project stakeholders.
Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences in complex technical environments.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
Experience working with Federal agencies is a plus.
Basic technical knowledge of Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) platforms such as Salesforce, Pega, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Box, Microsoft Power Platform (MPP), or Appian is beneficial.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
CLEARANCE:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
