Research Associate (IDLB) (R&D)
SUMMARY
The Infectious Disease Laboratory Branch (IDLB) is currently seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Genomics Center group. In this role, the candidate will assist colleagues in executing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows that support the surveillance, diagnostics, and research efforts of the California Department of Public Health.
The successful candidate will perform important laboratory duties such as specimen accessioning, inventory monitoring, and processing; performing quality control checks on equipment; preparing media and reagents; equipment to assist with quality control; and record keeping. The Research Associate will assist with the NGS workflows in the Genomics Center group including library preparation, targeted enrichment, and DNA sequencing. Maintaining an organized, neat, and clean work environment, working well in a team environment, and being organized and detail-oriented are essential.
The Research Associate will also assist with the overall lab work aiding other research staff and work closely with members to accomplish the goals of the Genomics Center. The position is located in Richmond, CA.
Must be able to work flexible hours that may include weekends and holidays.

The hourly range for this position is $26.44 - $30.29 per hour depending on experience/qualifications.
