Technician - Facilities (Colorado Springs, CO) (Finance)
Position Description
Primary purpose:
Maintain corporate asset value and provide internal support services to all employees.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Day-to-day office operations and maintenance activities that may include but are not limited to repairs to building equipment and furniture, reconfiguring office space and modular furniture, moves/adds/changes, moving files and cabinets, computer and office equipment, etc.
Coordinate with external vendors associated with maintenance, moves and repairs.
Safety and ergonomic configurations and compliance.
Coordinate and process distribution of records retention boxes and shred bins.
Coordinate and ensure compliance with, but not limited to, city, state and local authorities related to OSHA, DOT, ADA and fire district regulations, etc.
Conduct routine rounds and inspections of Kinder Morgan floors and equipment.
Receiving, sorting and distribution of mail and parcels using company provided software.
Mail preparation and shipping of outgoing mail and packages.
Copy services including copying and binding.
Stock copy paper and coffee bars on multiple floors.
Monitor, retrieve and complete work orders from the building work order system.
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, and promoting cost effectiveness while maintaining safety.
Reception back-up coverage as needed.
Take on other duties as assigned.
General office duties:

Ensure timely and quality service delivery to customers. Follow-up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Carry a company-provided cell phone and be available to responding during working hours, and occasionally during non-working hours.
Overtime may be required.
Position Requirements
Minimum requirements: Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience/specific knowledge:
One to three years related work experience in a large, fast-paced corporate office/facility environment.
One to three years general knowledge of commercial building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and commercial construction.
Basic proficiency level Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for the purpose of word processing, spreadsheets and information retrieval.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
Competencies, skills and abilities:
Competent skills operating small hand and electrical tools
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing concepts, standards, and instructions to others. Ability to build and sustain interpersonal relationships
Physical demands:
Must be able, in a safe manner, to lift/carry/move up to 50 pounds on an ongoing basis.
Position requires frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing ladders often for extended periods of time.
Working conditions:
Must be able to stand/walk for a prolonged period of time.
Light travel to coordinate and perform standard facilities projects at satellite and warehouse locations.
One full-time equivalent person (staff worker, associate and/or personnel) 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Supervisory responsibility:
N/A
Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills and abilities: Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
Experience in inventory, set-up and tear-down of modular Haworth furniture systems.
Experience in a large, fast-paced corporate office/facility is preferred.
Education in related field such as IFMA and/or BOMA
